THE PLANNED UNPLANNED!

THE PLANNED UNPLANNED

Opened her phone, glanced through the apps,
Scanning each cap, dismissing the chap,
Focused she was, intent on her map,
Pity the fact—she forgot life’s a clap.

In her planned life, every detail laid,
By thirty-five, two kids, ambitions splayed,
An accomplished pro, all debts repaid,
A perfect picture, not even the shadows swayed.

Her pal stayed close, yet their paths seldom crossed,
Chose a free spirit’s life, in bliss, she was engrossed,
Trusted in fate and the cross, her fears tossed,
Next minute who knows—her life freshly embossed.

She felt a little tingle, as she and her pal mingled,
From tales of free whims, where life’s mysteries dangled,
Even without strict plans, her friend’s life sweetly jingled,
“Maybe life’s just a swing,” she thought, heart rekindled.

Back to her phone, this time with new eyes,
Scanning not for musts, but for perhaps’ surprise,
She swipes with a smile, letting chances rise,
Meeting life and love with joy, she now flies.
